Hidden Flames Chapter XIX: Shadow Over Happiness

The rays of the Hawaiian sunrise still caressed the deeper layers of our skin when we stepped through the farm gate and the tropical illusion slowly evaporated, giving way to the endless golden waves of the prairie. The wind gently bent the tall blades of grass, distant cow moos and rooster crows awakened the mornings, birds' chirping filled the air with silky dew. Nathan and I stood there as husbands, our rings quietly sparkling in the sunlight like two eternal little flames that never go out. On the last Hawaiian dawn on the balcony I awakened him with a gentle kiss on the curve of his neck, the Pacific Ocean waves below whispered in rhythmic unison with us, our sweat-dampened skin fused together from the night's memory. "I love you, Nathan, every moment of ours here is an eternal verse line in our souls" I whispered, my fingers slowly danced on his back, caressing the soft lines where the boundaries of our bodies blurred. "Lucas... you are my ocean, my fire" he panted back, his eyes deeply piercing into mine, full of that vulnerable glow that burned only between us, as our souls intertwined again in the humid air like two waves that never break apart.
However, the farm's silence subtly cast a shadow on us, as if the spirits of the prairie were warning. At night Nathan awoke startled, his face distorted by old shadows. George, the stepfather who never raised a hand yet bound the soul with invisible chains, weaving his psychic net under the guise of "man-making upbringing." "You are safe with me, darling. Let me embrace you through the darkness" I merged with him, my hand resting on his chest, feeling his rapid heartbeat that slowly calmed in my closeness. In the morning we sat in the kitchen, sunlight filtered through the dusty curtains, faint creaking of outer barns and horses snorting seeped in, when Nathan's phone rang like a harbinger of a distant storm. Unknown number. He answered, his face paled, his hand trembled. "George? What more do you want from me? ...No, it's over between us forever!" he whispered in a trembling voice, then hung up, his eyes full of tears. "He's threatening, Lucas. 'I won't let you take my son from me. I'll come back, and if needed, I'll take him by force.' I'm scared... what if he really does it?" I hugged him tightly, my lips gently merged with his temple, my breath entwined in his hair: "I won't let him near you. You are mine, the fire of my soul. Shall we call the police right now?" "Not yet... maybe just bluff, but his voice... so dark" he replied, his body pressed against mine as if closeness was the shelter.
In the afternoon we set off to town, celebrating the wedding aftermath. Freshly baked bread, wine dinner dreams enveloped our plans. Nathan drove the dusty dirt road, my hand rested warmly on his thigh, our fingertips intertwined like two vine tendrils. "Remember Hawaii? Your slow descent onto me to the whispering rhythm of the waves... I still feel your body's warmth inside me" I laughed softly, mischievously, he blushed, our eyes met in the rearview mirror full of that fire that smolders only between us. "Lucas, you seductive demon... yes, I want it again, here and now too" he whispered back, his hand gently slid to my knee full of promises. But suddenly sharp smoke smell flooded the cabin, the brake pedal sank limply. "God, the brakes! It doesn't hold!" Nathan shouted in panic, the car skidded in the curve, overturned in the prairie grass, glass crunched, metal screamed, the world turned upside down. I felt the stabbing pain in my shoulder, blood taste in my mouth, but Nathan's voice cut through everything: "Lucas! Help, please!" I burst out of the wreckage, pulled him out gently, his arm bled but he breathed, trembling clung to me like a drowning man to the lifeline. "Hold on, my love! Ambulance is coming!" I yelled into the void, hugged him tightly, our bodies trembled in the adrenaline storm, the prairie wind caressed our faces, distant cow moos echoed. "George... he must have tampered. I'm scared of him" Nathan groaned, his tears dripped on my shoulder. "We'll find the truth. I promise."
Under the hospital's sterile lights they stitched Nathan's arm, I watched over him holding his hand, our fingers intertwined: "I'll never let you out of my sight again. You are my soul." The next day the police arrived at the hospital. I reported everything. "Threats, sir? And the accident... tampering marks on the brakes, we'll check George. Stay available" said the detective calmly, his notebook clicked. At home in the farm bedroom Nathan recuperated where the wind whispered sneaking through the window, rooster crow and horses snorting came from afar. I cared for him meticulously like a fragile artwork: warm towel wiped his sweat, oily massages smoothed the skin around the wound, my fingers slowly drew circles feeling the hidden tremor under his skin. "Gently, Lucas... sensitive there" he groaned softly but his eyes full of desire, his body arched under my hand, sweat beads pearled on his chest like morning dew. "Let me heal you with every touch" I whispered, my lips gently merged with the scar, with a series of slow kisses deepening the trust, my hand wandered lower caressing his ballsack feeling the warm pulsing, prostate gently pressing through the skin. "Nathan... your body responds to me like this, trembling, open" I panted, our sweat mixed with the oil, farm sounds. Wind whistling, birds. Made the moment sacred. "I love you... don't stop, let's unite" he replied, his body pressed to mine, our souls merged like two rivers flowing together.
But peace was fragile. The next morning the bed was empty, a note on the pillow: "George called again. I'll go voluntarily to the old farm, he wants to talk, let's end this forever. Wait for me." Panic gripped me, my heart pounded like in a prairie storm. "Nathan, don't go alone!" I yelled into the empty room then rushed to the police. "My husband is missing! George threatened, he went voluntarily to him but fearing a trap. Kidnapping suspicion!" I panted to the detective. "Sending patrols to the old farm immediately. Tracking the phone. Stay calm but... prepare for the worst." The waiting was hell: I walked on the prairie edge, wind bent the grasses, sun burned mercilessly, worry gnawed inside: *What if he breaks him psychically again? If I lose him forever? Our love... so fragile now.* Called a hundred times, messages unanswered.
Arriving at the old farm dust billowed on the dirt road, barn shadows stretched like fingers. Door slightly ajar, George's voice boomed inside dark manipulative: "I won't let my son go to a faggot, Nathan! I thought you came voluntarily but now you can't leave. I'll take you back, teach you to be a man again, break you psychically until you beg!" Nathan's trembling voice cut through: "I'm not yours, George! I'm happy with Lucas, in love with him! Let me go, please!" George grabbed his arm, slammed the door behind them. Psychic kidnapping locked in the old barn where trauma spirits whispered. I followed, police sirens already wailed from afar. "Let him go now, George! Nathan is free!" I shouted stepping into the half-shadow. Nathan broke free from the grip ran to me: "Lucas! I was so scared... save me for good!" We hugged, our bodies merged in the dust, farm sounds. Wind, cow mooing. Rang around us like triumphant chorus.
The police burst in: "George, you are under arrest! Threats, brake tampering, psychic kidnapping. Handcuffs!" George struggled desperately: "Lies! He came voluntarily, my son!" But handcuffs clicked, took him away. Went to prison immediately, trial awaited him for long years. Nathan merged with me: "You saved me... my soul is free again." Took him home to the farm, in the bedroom the true dance of healing began. "Thank you, Lucas. I was scared to lose this love" he whispered his eyes deeply piercing into mine full of emotional fire that slowly flared into flame. Slowly undressed him oiled the wound my fingers gently danced around his prostate through the skin his body arched sweat pearled on his belly his groan whispering breeze merged with me in the farm silence. "I feel your soul's warmth inside you... let me unite with you slowly deeply" I panted as he sat on me his descent so gentle like the waves' touch our rhythm matched his heartbeat our sweat mixed steamily our bodies merged like two flames burning into one. Our hands intertwined at the rings climax arrived with shared trembling warm flood kneaded inside in afterwaves trembling our souls merged forever. We kissed long our lips wetly merged the prairie wind whispered celebrating our peace.
The shadow of happiness dissipated. Behind George's prison walls. Our fire burned clearer than ever.

I mentioned a reconciliation earlier but then she showed up acting all psycho bitch!😂😂😂😂😂
This was a little weird, but a great climax and ending of the story, so far. 👌🏻❤️💯‼️
