Setting the Record Straight
Dear Readers, Dear Friends,
I wanted to take a moment to pause and thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey. Every single line you read, every piece of feedback, and your mere presence here is a huge honor for me. Your attention is what truly brings my stories to life.
Because the trust and honesty between us mean everything to me, I’d like to share a little behind-the-scenes secret about how these chapters reach you, and why you might notice badges or flags from Substack’s own scanner (Pangram).
I want you to know: every single word, every character, every subtle emotion and tremor you read comes purely from my heart, my soul, and my mind.
I originally write all my stories in my native language, Hungarian. Hungarian is a beautiful, yet uniquely complex language—its logic, rhythm, and nuances in expressing deep emotions are completely different from English. There is a vast bridge to cross between the two languages.
To span this gap and allow my stories to reach you without language barriers, I use artificial intelligence to assist with translation.
I want to emphasize: AI does not write, and it does not edit. It adds nothing to the plot, alters no story arcs, and takes nothing away. I use it strictly for two things:
1. Translation: To translate the thoughts I’ve poured onto paper in Hungarian into English.
2. Visual Illustrations: To show you the faces and atmospheres I see in my mind’s eye while writing.
Because Substack’s scanner (Pangram) analyzes the final English translation, it will detect the presence of AI. But now you know why: this technology is simply the bridge connecting us. The passion, the soul of the story, and the creative work remain 100% my own.
Thank you for your openness, your understanding, and above all, for gifting me with your time and attention. None of this would exist without you!
With sincere respect and warmth,
Arden Tomas 🏳️🌈

Thank you for sharing your writing process 😊 I also write in my own language first (Dutch) and then translate. Have a lovely weekend ✌🏻
Thank you for sharing you're not-wallpaper. I am a visual artist and I too, don't do beige.
