October 28, 1978, Thursday evening.
Leo didn't look up from the paper for a long time. The violet ink had dried, but the words still seemed to breathe on the page, as if each letter had its own pulse. The pen lay beside the sheet, its obsidian tip still glistening faintly. The room was silent, except for the crackling of the fireplace and the distant drip of water from the eaves.
Then he felt it.
Not a sound. Not a movement. A presence. Like the moment before lightning strikes, when the air thickens and every hair on your body stands on end.
Leo lifted his head.
In the armchair by the fireplace, the one that had been empty all evening, sat a man. He was naked. His skin was pale in the firelight, but not sickly – rather like marble that had been warmed from within. His body was exactly as Leo had written: broad shoulders, narrow waist, muscular thighs. The hair on his chest stood in dark, wet streaks, as if he had just stepped out of the shower. His face… was Leo's face. But sharper. Younger. The eyes were the same brown, but deeper, hungrier, filled with a light that seemed to come from somewhere else entirely.
Alexander did not smile. He simply watched. His gaze traveled over Leo's face, his hands, the pen on the desk. Then he spoke, and his voice was exactly as Leo had imagined it – deep, slightly hoarse, with a faint accent that could not be placed.
"You wrote me."
Leo's throat tightened. He wanted to speak, but no sound came. He nodded.
Alexander rose from the armchair. His movements were fluid, almost feline, as if his body were not bound by the same gravity as ordinary men. He walked slowly around the desk, his footsteps silent on the Persian rug. He stopped behind Leo's chair and placed his hands on Leo's shoulders.
"You wrote every detail," Alexander said, his lips close to Leo's ear. "How I would feel. How I would move. What I would want."
His hands slid down, over Leo's chest, over the fabric of his shirt. Leo's breath caught. The touch was real. Warm. Fingers that pressed into his muscles with exactly the right amount of pressure.
"But you forgot one thing," Alexander whispered. "You forgot to write that I would want “you."
Leo turned his head. Alexander's face was inches from his. Their eyes met. And in that moment, Leo knew that everything he had ever desired, everything he had ever imagined in the darkest hours of the night, was now sitting in his lap, breathing the same air, waiting.
"I don't understand," Leo managed to say. "How is this possible?"
Alexander's lips curved into a faint smile. "You opened the box. You used the pen. You wrote the truth of your soul on the paper. The rest… is not for you to understand. Only to feel."
He took Leo's hand and placed it on his chest. The skin was hot. Beneath it, a heart beat – strong, steady, real.
"Feel," Alexander said. "I am here. I am yours."
The library fire had burned low, casting long shadows across the room. Leo lay on the rug before the hearth, his clothes scattered around him like shed skin. Alexander was above him, his body a warm weight, his skin slick with sweat in the firelight.
Leo had never been touched like this. Not just physically – but as if every caress, every kiss, every press of Alexander's fingers into his flesh was a question, and his body was the answer. Alexander knew exactly where to touch, how hard to bite, when to slow down and when to push deeper. He knew because Leo had written it. Every fantasy, every hidden desire, every shameful wish he had never dared to speak aloud – Alexander performed them all, one by one, with the precision of a master craftsman.
Alexander's mouth traced a path down Leo's throat, over his collarbone, across his chest. His tongue circled a nipple, and Leo arched his back, a groan escaping his lips. Alexander's hand slid lower, over his stomach, through the hair below his navel, until his fingers wrapped around Leo's cock, already hard and leaking.
"You wanted this," Alexander murmured against his skin. "You wanted someone to take you apart. To know you so completely that there is nothing left to hide."
"Yes," Leo breathed. "God, yes."
Alexander's hand moved slowly, deliberately, drawing out every sensation. His thumb circled the head, spreading the moisture, while his other hand pressed Leo's thigh open. Leo felt the cool air on his most intimate places, then the heat of Alexander's mouth as he took him in.
Leo's hand fisted in Alexander's hair. The world narrowed to the wet heat of that mouth, the rhythm of his tongue, the occasional graze of his teeth. He was lost. He was found. He was nothing but sensation, pure and overwhelming.
When Alexander finally pulled away, Leo gasped at the loss. But Alexander only smiled, his lips glistening, and turned Leo onto his stomach.
"Now," Alexander said, his voice low and commanding. "Now I will take what you have given me."
Leo felt Alexander's body press against his back, felt the hardness of his cock sliding between his thighs. Then Alexander's hand guided himself to the entrance, and Leo's breath caught in anticipation.
"Look at me," Alexander said.
Leo turned his head. Their eyes met.
And Alexander pushed inside.
The pain was sharp, but it melted instantly into a pleasure so intense that Leo's vision blurred. Alexander moved slowly at first, each thrust measured, deliberate, as if he were savoring every inch. His hand gripped Leo's hip, his breath hot against Leo's neck.
"You are mine," Alexander whispered. "From the moment you wrote my name, you were mine."
Leo could not answer. He could only feel – the fullness, the rhythm, the heat building in his core. Alexander's hand found his cock again, stroking in time with his thrusts, and Leo felt himself hurtling toward the edge.
"Come for me," Alexander commanded. "Now."
And Leo did. With a cry that was half sob, half scream, he spilled into Alexander's hand, his body convulsing. Alexander followed a moment later, his thrusts becoming erratic, his groan muffled against Leo's shoulder.
They lay together in the firelight, their bodies tangled, their breath slowly returning. Alexander's arm was wrapped around Leo's waist, his face buried in Leo's hair.
"I love you," Leo whispered. The words came easily, naturally, as if they had been waiting on his tongue for years.
Alexander did not answer. But his arm tightened around Leo, and Leo took that as enough.
October 29, 1978, Friday.
The days that followed were a blur of heat and flesh and whispered promises. Leo barely ate. He barely slept. He barely left the library, except to drag Alexander to the bedroom, or the bathroom, or once, desperately, against the cold stone wall of the hallway.
Benedek knocked on the door several times, but Leo sent him away. The outside world ceased to exist. There was only Alexander – his hands, his mouth, his voice, his body. Leo wrote nothing. He did not need to. Alexander was real now, more real than anything Leo had ever known.
But on the third night, Leo woke to an empty bed.
The sheets beside him were cold. The fire had died to embers. The room was dark, save for the faint glow of the moon through the curtain.
Leo sat up. "Alexander?"
No answer.
He pulled on his robe and padded through the manor, his bare feet cold on the wooden floors. The library was empty. The kitchen was empty. The hallway was empty.
Then he heard it. A faint sound from below. A voice. Not Alexander's – deeper, older, like stone grinding against stone.
Leo's blood ran cold. He moved toward the cellar stairs, his heart pounding.
The door to the cellar was open. A faint light flickered from below.
Leo descended slowly, his hand on the railing. The air grew colder, damper. The smell of mold and old stone filled his nostrils.
At the bottom of the stairs, he stopped.
The wall where the plaster had fallen was now fully open. Beyond it, the dark cavity gaped like a mouth. And inside that cavity, Alexander stood, naked, his back to Leo. Before him, in the darkness, a shape – indistinct, shifting, as if made of shadow and smoke. Two red eyes glowed in the void.
"You know what must be done," the shape said. Its voice was not a sound. It was a vibration, a pressure in Leo's skull.
"I know," Alexander replied. His voice was different. Colder. Sharper. "He trusts me completely. He has given me everything."
"Then take the rest," the shape hissed. "His will. His soul. His place in this world. You are his mirror, but mirrors can be shattered. And when he is gone, you will be real. Truly real. Not a reflection. Not a creation. “Real”.
Alexander nodded. "It will take time. He must give himself willingly. Every piece."
"Then make him give it," the shape said. "Make him love you. Make him need you. Make him so empty without you that he will offer you his very breath."
Alexander turned. His eyes met Leo's.
Leo stood frozen, his hand over his mouth. He had seen. He had heard.
But Alexander only smiled – that same warm, loving smile he had worn for three days.
"Leo," he said, stepping out of the cavity. "You should be in bed."
Leo could not speak. He could only stare at the shape in the darkness, at the red eyes that now fixed on him.
"Don't be afraid," Alexander said, taking Leo's hand. His touch was warm. Gentle. "I was just… exploring. This house has so many secrets."
Leo looked from Alexander to the darkness, and back. The red eyes were gone. The shape had vanished.
"Who were you talking to?" Leo whispered.
Alexander cupped his face. His thumb stroked Leo's cheek.
"No one," he said softly. "Only myself. Come. Let me take you back to bed."
And Leo, exhausted, confused, and desperately in love, let himself be led back upstairs.
He did not see the smile that lingered on Alexander's lips in the darkness of the stairwell.
He did not hear the whisper that followed them:
Soon.

Ominous, dark and deeply unsettling! The battle between desire and reality has begun.. 🥺🤯🤌
